ABOUT BUSINESS #2030 CONFERENCE

Empowering Albanian Companies for Sustainable Action

The Business #2030 Conference is dedicated to empowering Albanian companies with actionable and sustainable practices, focusing on familiarizing them with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the course of the event, our primary goal is to foster collaboration, share innovative solutions, and establish meaningful partnerships among Albanian, Swedish, and international participants.

The primary objective of this event is to expose the Albanian private sector to sustainability practices, drawing from the experiences of international companies, with a particular emphasis on Sweden. The aim is to support Albanian businesses in pursuing enhanced growth and productivity while actively contributing to environmental protection and the creation of a better society.

Additionally, this two-day event offers valuable opportunities for local and international companies to establish initial contacts that could potentially lead to future collaborations and business ventures. Distinguished speakers from the Albanian and Swedish governments, and private sector, as well as trailblazers and innovators, will share their experiences and insights on the role of businesses in the Sustainable Development Goals agenda. This will include engaging discussions on the latest debates and practical experiences, providing attendees with valuable knowledge and guidance.

About the “Business Partnerships and Solutions for SDGs” project

“Business Partnerships and Solutions for SDGs” is the United Nations Joint Project, funded by the Embassy of Sweden, that provides the framework for the event. Its goal is to raise awareness among Albanian companies about the SDGs and to support businesses in becoming more sustainable by improving working conditions and processes.

Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to enabling the participation of small and medium enterprises in global supply chains and upgrade their standards in preparation to Albania’s future integration to the European Union. The activities in Albania are focused on two sectors, agro-processing and textile, clothing, leather & footwear (TCLF), both selected for their significant impact on the country’s economic performance and employment.

Swedish companies such as TetraPak and LantMannen have already participated to events organised in the scope of the project in 2022 and we look forward to welcoming many more and creating opportunities for exchange and partnerships between Albanian and Swedish businesses.

The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and implemented by UNDP (lead), FAO, ILO and UNIDO in Albania.
